Nürnberg, Germany

10 Oct 2006

Nürnberg
We drove up from Burgbernheim for a day trip...mostly shopping, but we did do a little sight-seeing (very little) and took some pictures. This page will be updated later, as we will probably make several trips in to Nürnberg (it's only about 45 minutes to hour away).

Be sure to check out the Travel pages for more adventures of the Motes Clan.

Here's the Motes Clan in front of the Marriage Merry-Go-Round Fountain (or Ehekarusell)...really the only sight we saw while we were shopping. This was a twenty-year old bronze sculpture based on a German poem about married life.  The fountain contained a series of odd, grotesque images that depict married life in various phases (but not in sequence) -- young love, arrival of children, middle-aged bickering, ending with the couple in old age ready to kill each other.  Not necessarily a happy story, but hey, it was different... which is told on the tablet (see Drew and Kaitlyn below) and then they made the fountain to match the story on the tablet. Or so we were told.
